PITTSBURGH, PA, September 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen Gabrielle Sheehan, Esq., Attorney and Surface Mining Reclamation Specialist for the United States Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining (DOI), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in environmental law.

Presently in her first year in government service, Kathleen Gabrielle Sheehan brings to DOI her impressive knowledge of environmental law and civil litigation. She works primarily out of the agency's Office of Surface Mining. In the capacity of Surface Mining Reclamation Specialist, she has honed her skills in diverse areas of environmental law and commercial litigation, and has taken part in a number of high-profile cases. Miss Sheehan considers successfully representing a major political candidate in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania to be the highlight of her career thus far. She attributes her success to a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Miss Sheehan earned a Juris Doctor in 2004 from Duquesne University School of Law where she received the Dean's Merit Scholarship and an Environmental Law Scholarship. Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies in 2001 from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, she holds a Certification in International Studies, also from Pitt, and is an IRS certified taxation professional. Her professional affiliations include the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association. Miss. Sheehan was recently inducted as a Fellow in the Allegheny County Bar Association, demonstrating superior pro bono service and skill in the profession. Kathleen serves on the Board of Directors of Just Harvest, an anti-poverty non-profit organization.
